Pain
Here I am, my body wasting away
Trapped in a cage, my fate on display
My youth has passed in a sea of tears
Every night I'm consumed by fears
My heart whispers hate, a venomous dart
But it's time to restart and make a new start
Writing is the cure for my malady
Through words, I can create a new reality
At times I'm scared, my plans fall apart
My soul longs for home, to your loving heart
There it feels safe, a haven from the storm
But fear destroys progress and takes reform
In prayer, I turn to my God above Pleading for mercy
and endless love Can you please take away this pain?
And guide me to a life without disdain.
On Pain, Khalil Gibran
On Pain is a poem by Khalil Gibran that explores the nature of pain and its role in human life. The poem portrays pain as a teacher that guides us toward greater understanding and wisdom.
Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses
your understanding.
Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its
heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.
And could you keep your heart in wonder at the
daily miracles of your life, your pain would not seem
less wondrous than your joy;
And you would accept the seasons of your heart,
even as you have always accepted the seasons that
pass over your fields.
And you would watch with serenity through the
winters of your grief.
Much of your pain is self-chosen.
It is the bitter potion by which the physician within
you heals your sick self.
Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy
in silence and tranquillity:
For his hand, though heavy and hard, is guided by
the tender hand of the Unseen,
And the cup he brings, though it burn your lips, has
been fashioned of the clay which the Potter has
moistened with His own sacred tears.
(Crying After Reading a Book) is a Hindi poem by Raghuvir Sahay. The poem is about the emotional impact of reading a book, where the speaker becomes so engrossed in the story that they are moved to tears. The poem describes how books have the power to evoke strong emotions and bring out deep-seated feelingsरोया हूँ मैं भी किताब पढ़कर के
